Each year, the Gold Coast boasts a number of fun, creative, festive events during the month of December. The holidays are always a great excuse to gather with your loved ones, and with a calendar of events promising fun for the whole family, make sure to check out the ones below this week.
You might even run into Storyfest! Our annual pop-ups will promote the love of literature to children through the wonders of Christmas. Kids can come and decorate their own candy cane Christmas tree trinket, or write and mail a letter to Santa Claus - we guarantee you’ll receive a reply from Santa himself. Don’t miss out!
Tugun Lights Up - 4 December 2021
Tugun Lights Up returns in 2021 for its ninth annual celebration! Dine under the stars at one of the fantastic local cafes or restaurants, check out the local window displays and special offers, or visit the Christmas market stalls.
Plenty of children’s entertainment on offer throughout the program with Santa making a special appearance!

Carols by the Sea - 9 December 2021
North Burleigh Carols by the Sea promises a wonderful afternoon and evening of free Christmas entertainment and fun this December. It will be a mixture of festive entertainment from 4pm to 8pm, with stage entertainment and Christmas Carols commencing from 6pm.

Coolangatta Christmas - 12 December 2021
Coolangatta will come alive with the spirit of Christmas with free carols, fireworks, and family-friendly fun!
Come along and sing along to your favourite carols, enjoy spectacular festive performances, and settle in for a magical night under the Gold Coast stars. Santa will be making an appearance by plane with plenty of entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
The Coolangatta Christmas Markets and food trucks will be open from 4pm (Qld time), with the stage show starting at 5.30pm, and the event finishing with a fantastic festive fireworks display.
