The Storyfest Business Lunch Series focuses on providing opportunities and exposure for your business to some of Australia’s elite public speakers and like-minded business owners. If you’re looking for a business networking event on the Gold Coast, then the Business Lunch is the place to be!
Held every 6 months, these business lunches are the perfect culmination of all that we love about our wonderful community: people coming together to network, connect, and learn from each other, all the while supporting the great cause of children’s literacy programmes.
Each business lunch proves to be a bigger success than the one before, and here at Storyfest we are so grateful to be surrounded by supporters and businesses that help us create literature-rich opportunities for children.
We wrap up each lunch with some truly inspiring outcomes – one of which was Kaitlin Johnson’s beautiful success story.
How a business lunch helped Kaitlin
Kaitlin has been a student, friend, supporter and team member at Storyfest, and we were very happy to see her attending our October Business Lunch last year, which took place at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. Kaitlin ended up being the lucky winner of a sales package offered by RE/MAX Regency as part of our auction to raise funds for various Storyfest programmes and events. This auction item changed Kaitlin’s life.
She had inherited a property 8 years prior, and was in the middle of figuring out what she wanted to do with the place. It held a lot of emotional baggage for Kaitlin, and the process was one she had to go through mentally. It was during this uncertain time in her life that she attended the Business Lunch, where she felt inspired to bid for the RE/MAX sales package. And not only did she win it, but soon sold her house with the help of RE/MAX!
“I sat down with the team at RE/MAX, told them my story, and they were absolutely wonderful – they answered all of my questions. They made a stressful process much easier and I’m very appreciative of everyone who was involved in it.
“With the help of Storyfest and the wonderful RE/MAX team, I was able to sell my house and get closure – which has allowed me to kickstart my next journey.
“I will sing RE/MAX’s praises as long as I possibly can because they were amazing.”
Kaitlin was especially appreciative of this win’s full-circle moment – RE/MAX helped her, she was able to help Storyfest with her bid, and Storyfest is now able to further its literacy programmes. Everyone benefited in the long run!
Kaitlin now has plans of buying a van, travelling around Australia, and helping as many people as she can along the way.
“I’ve had so many blessings thrown my way, that I want to throw some in the way of other people.”
The best business networking event on the Gold Coast
This particular business lunch stands out to Kaitlin for obvious reasons, however, she urges everyone to attend the series – according to her, all business lunches have a special atmosphere filled with opportunity and connections.
“There is a real sense of community at these business lunches. It’s good to rub elbows with people in the community and to raise money for a good cause.”
We couldn't have put it any better – we are always filled with so much inspiration and gratitude after each business networking event across the Gold Coast, especially knowing that we can give back to our community just as much as we get in return. Stories like Kaitlin’s are true testament to that.
